It is not a course for people who have not played before. Basic bidding will be reviewed, and new elements will be introduced — preempts, strong opening and slam bids, and Jacoby Transfers. The focus will be on techniques of play (promotion, establishing a long suit, finesses, ruffing and discarding losers) and suit management, including how to analyze which technique to use and when to use it. You will learn the suits, the setup of the tiles/racks, the rules of the game, and the card of standard hands against which all games are played. Then, you’ll sit at tables and play. Learn now! In Soundations Music Production Club students will learn all the basics of music production in a professional recording studio environment. Using the DAW (digital audio workstation) garageband, you will learn how to use loops and record your own audio to create music or soundscapes of your liking. You will become a wiz at navigating the DAW and be able to capture and manipulate sound like a pro. Learn to control faders, gain, panning, equalization, reverb and other sound effects to create your own masterpiece. All students will experience mixing a live band recording, recording their own audio, and ultimately will produce their own original audio piece with a presentation day at the culmination of the class. Music making has one beyond instruments and orchestras. Your experience in Soundations Music Production Club will set you up for success in industry standard DAW’s including Logic, Ableton, and ProTools. In this introduction to weather class, we will talk about some sources of useful weather information and cover some of the basic weather patterns and how to do some deck- level forecasting. We will also talk about preparing for and going out on the water with an eye to the sky, and what to do when the weather turns ugly.
